Our phones are always running out of charge

A concept project for a brand that puts wearables in the fashion realm. With our increasing reliance on smartphones for communication, wayfinding, and taking photos, battery life is the biggest limitation to what we can do. TAQAT wearables provide us with power without inconveniencing us: no need to carry an extra battery pack on a keychain, in a pocket, or on a purse. Part jewellery, part technology, hiding in plain sight.

Branding Development

"TAQAT" is a rough transliteration of <<طاقة>> — the Arabic word for energy. Arabic reads right-to-left, and the brand name TAQAT is a palindrome which can be read left-to-right or right-to-left. It also nicely centers the logotype around the stylised Q, which can act as a standalone symbol.
